每年的正月初九是闽南人拜天公生的日子；天界最大的神尊玉皇大帝的诞辰。
拜天公是个很讲究的学问。一代一代的转成下来，从供桌到供品都有讲究。
信徒可在初九的子时（现代时间初八的午后11点、11pm）开始拜，一直到早晨7点前。
拜天公也有许多禁忌，民间所说的就大禁忌为 –
家中有人逝世、带孝者、坐月子的产妇、月经期的女性禁拜天公
2026【丙午】年拜天公生的日子和注意事项
日期：农历正月初九子时【阳历2月24日，晚上11点】直到隔天天亮。
禁忌：家中有人逝世(未满3年)、带孝者、坐月子的产妇、月经期的女性禁拜天公。
供品：一下是建议。不同的家族用的也许不一样
- 甘蔗(1对)
- 3 牲礼 (烧肉，烧鸡，烧鸭)
- 5 果 (凤梨，柚子，香蕉，柑，水莉)
- 糕点 （发糕，米糕 和年糕）
- 汤圆(12碗)
- 红龟粿(12个)
- 红鸡蛋(12个)
- 面线(12束)
- 斋料
- 甜料
- 3杯茶
- 3杯酒
- 拜天公纸料
- 天公坐

Jade Emperor’s Birthday (9th day of the 1st Lunar Month)
Every year on the 9th day of the first lunar month, many Hokkien decedents will set up elaborated altar outside their home to celebrate the Jade Emperor’s birthday. There are many areas to take note when praying to Jade Emperor as he is the highest authority within the deities rank.

Date & Time: 24 February 2024, 11pm onward
Things to note: Family who has member who passed on within 3 years, woman during confinement and having period are advised against praying to Jade Emperor.
