Notice for Singapore Mandai Columbarium & Choa Chu Kang Columbarium

For drivers. parking appointment have to be made for –
  • Mandai Columbarium between 16 Mar 24 and 14 Apr 24
  • Choa Chu Kang Columbarium – Selected days
All three government columbarium will be open 24 hours between 16 Mar 24 and 14 Apr 24.

清明节在不同的地区有不同的习俗。在新马一代，华人的民间习俗是到祖先的墓地/灵骨塔去扫墓和缅怀祖先。不同的籍贯和重教有祭祖方式，一般的道教信徒/民间习俗会烧一些冥纸该祖先还有墓地的土地公。

墓地的土地公是守护墓园/灵骨塔的守护神，在不同的地区和不同的籍贯会有不同的称呼。多数以土地公/地主公/后土为称呼。祂是在当地守护秩序和保护您的祖先的神。所以要先拜墓园的土地公后才能拜祖先，以显尊敬。

民间说法是10天前后都可以去扫墓。有一些民俗老师会说新坟要在10天前，这我们建议您先请教老师的意见。

由于在新加坡，万礼和蔡厝港骨灰安置所的拥堵情况，当局也许会有一些措施来控制人潮。您也可以在春分（阳历：2024年3月20日）后至谷雨（阳历2024年4月19日）之间到先人的墓地扫墓。

祭拜方式

不同的籍贯，地区和门派都有不同的方式。以下的是我们的仪式。首先如果清明节是在墓地或灵骨塔祭拜和在家里和庙里祖先牌位祭拜有些不同。

墓地/灵骨塔

在新加坡的公共灵骨塔会有一下这样的后土祭拜处。

在墓地或灵骨塔祭拜祖先，首先您需要先拜后土/土地公/ 灵骨塔的主神。感谢祂们照顾您的祖先。

简单的拜料有一份金纸，蜡烛，饼和茶，酒和香。

拜了后土/土地公/ 灵骨塔的主神后，就可以开始拜祖先了。一般拜祖先会准备(却记：要是灵骨塔是按在佛寺，请跟佛寺的规矩。有些会全禁荤食)-

  • 茶和酒
  • 饭
  • 菜碗（一下是建议。您可以拜您的祖先爱吃的菜）
    • 烧肉
    • 鱼
    • 五香
    • 斋菜
    • 咖喱鸡
  • 拜料
    • 包袱
    • 往生钱
    • 溪钱
    • 古力金、古力银
    • 库钱

神主牌(家/庙、佛寺)

首先您需要拜您家的主神，要是祖先牌是供奉在庙里需要先拜庙里的神。

要是在家的，您可以拜您的祖先生前爱吃的食物和饭。如果是在庙或佛寺，请尊重哪里的规矩。

除了饭菜，您也可以准备些古力金和银，包袱，往生钱和过路钱。

QingMing Festival

Each year during the QingMing Festival, many Chinese family will visit the ancestors grave / columbarium to pay respect to their ancestors. Different dialects and different practices will have different way praying during QingMing Festival.

Other than praying on the actual day, many families choose to visit the ancestors’ grave / columbarium between 10 days before and 10 days after the QingMing Festival. There is also a belief that for new grave, descendants have to visit 10 days before QingMing Festival.

Items to prepare (visiting grave / Columbarium)

Usually cemetery and public columbarium has a guardian deity, usually know as HouTu【后土】，TuDiGong【土地公】. Therefore we need to pray respect to the guardian deity first before we invite our ancestors out for a meal. You may look out for this tablet in public columbarium in Singapore

Simple prayer items for guardian deity –

  • Tea leave
  • Biscuit
  • Candles & Incense
  • Kimzua (Joss Paper)
  • Rice Wine (optional)
  • Fruits (optional)

As for columbarium located within temple or Buddhist temple, they will have their main deity located within the columbarium section. We must also pay respect to them first. We must also follow their rules on the type of food not allowed within the temple.
